The State of IBM Mainframe Emulation

In early 2007, installations seeking a small IBM mainframe find themselves in a quandary:
• They can’t buy a FLEX-ES machine.
• They can buy a z9 BC, arguably spending more money than they want to for more machine than they need.
• They can install a Platform Solutions machine, risking a potentially unfavorable outcome from the pending court action.
• They can run Hercules, knowingly violating the law and foregoing IBM support.
